RENT A BOAT IN IBIZA WITH SAILS
Most sail boat rentals in Ibiza include a tender with an outboard engine which is ideal for nipping ashore to investigate a beach only accessible by boat. It can also be used for navigating in and out of the caves in Formentera. Sometimes a paddle board is included and other sea toys can also be easily added.
Generally it will take approximately 90-120 minutes from Ibiza to northern Formentera or less if you are departing from Salinas. Many sailing week-long charters start at the marina in San Antonio, from which the voyage to Formentera can take approximately 3-4 hours, during which you will sail passed the magnetic island of Es Vedra and spots including the beach club Blue Marlin in Cala Jondal.
You can choose to cruise around the islands of Ibiza and Formentera soaking up the Spanish sun, lunch in the many popular beach restaurants or catch the wind and set sail to the gorgeous island of Tagomago just off the north eastern shore of Ibiza, where there is great snorkelling.
Sailing boats are much more cost effective on fuel than motorboats, using less than €15 per hour in most cases when the engine is running. There are boats with up to 5 cabins and a convertible salon. You can usually sleep up to 12 people including crew on a standard 15m sailboat, dependent on the maritime license. We have some sailboats that are available without crew or bareboat, subject to your sailing license and a deposit on your credit card. Sailboats get booked earlier as they offer better value than other boats available in Ibiza. Virtually all sailing yachts are available for week-long bookings that run from Saturday to Saturday. The charter season for sailing yachts is typically much longer that motorised charter boats and usually starts as early as April and runs until the end of October. Please think about this before you book your flights.
